그리스도와의 연합이란

 

우리는 실제로 그리스도와 연합되었고, 그리스도에게 결합되었습니다. 신약 성경을 피상적으로 읽더라도 “그리스도 안에”, “그리스도 예수 안에서”라는 구절이 끊임없이 반복되는 것을 주목하지 않고 읽을 수는 없었을 것입니다. 사도들은 그 구절들을 계속 반복해 나갑니다. 그리고 그 구절이야말로 진리의 전 영역에서 가장 중요하고 영광스러운 진술입니다.

그것은 우리가 주 예수 그리스도와 결합되었다는 것을 뜻합니다. 우리는 그분의 일부가 되었습니다. 우리는 그분 안에 있습니다. 우리는 그분에게 속해 있습니다. 우리는 그분 몸의 지체입니다.

그리고 그 가르침은 하나님께서 우리를 그런 자로 간주하신다는 것입니다. 이것은 물론 이 관계 속에서 이제 우리는 주 예수 그리스도께서 소유하신 모든 것을 함께 누리는 자, 그분 성품에 함께 참여하는 자가 되었다는 것을 의미합니다.

 

We are actually in union with Christ and joined to him. You cannot have read the New Testament even cursorily without noticing this constantly repeated phrase – ‘in Christ’ – ‘in Christ Jesus’. The apostles go on repeating it and it is one of most significant and glorious statements in the entire realm and range of truth. It means that we are joined to the Lord Jesus Christ; we have become a part of him. We are in him. We belong to him. We are members of his body.

And the teaching is that God regards us as such; and this, of course, means that now, in this relationship, we are sharers in, and partakers of, everything that is true of the Lord Jesus Christ himself.
